History of Saint-Petersburg: The historical-documentary exhibition “International Saint-Petersburg”
June 13, 2013 in the exhibition hall of the Federal State Archives (Saint-Petersburg) opens the historical-documentary exhibition “International Saint-Petersburg”.
Founded on the banks of the Neva three hundred and ten years ago, Saint-Petersburg originally became the center of attraction of different nations. This was due to both its geographical position and the policy of the Emperor Peter the Great, aimed at rapprochement of Russia and Europe.
The exposition presents: A Manifesto of the Empress Catherine II of 4 December 1762 on allowing foreigners to settle in Russia, it’s about the service of M. Petipa; a drawing of chandeliers by architect Montferrand, decoration projects in the halls of the New Hermitage by architect L. Klentse, a certificate of service of Professor P. Lesgaft, K. Bulla request to take photographs of the anniversary celebrations of the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov, a drawing of the sign of the Slavic-Macedonian National Educational Association of St. Cyril and St. Methodius, photographs and museum objects.
