 
  History and culture: The exhibition “Armor and weapons” in Irkutsk
      The interactive exhibition “Armor and weapons (reconstruction and style)” opened on July 26, 2013 in the exhibition department of the Irkutsk regional museum “Window to Asia”. Its feature is that all the exhibits you can try on and hold in hands. The aim of the exhibition is to promote a holistic view of military history and man’s place in it through contact with the exhibits.
The exposition is traveling and it is exhibited in the cities of Russia since 2012. Most of the exhibits are brought from Ivanovo, the Novokuznetsk museum, as well as were purchased from the re-enactors of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Khakassia, and Ukraine.
The exhibition features about 160 exhibits - replicas and reconstructions of arms and armor of the X-XVI centuries of Russia, Scandinavia, Europe, Mongolia, and India. The artifacts are recovered on the basis of archaeological, ethnographic and visual sources.
The interactive exhibition allows you shape the perception of history more efficient.
The exhibition “Armor and weapons (reconstruction and style)” will last until August 25.
