Book publishing and book distribution: Moscow is presented at the Beijing International Book Fair

From August 28 to September 1, 2013, China hosts the Beijing International Book Fair. For the first time this year the organizers have placed “in focus” of the fair a foreign capital - Moscow.

On the stand, rented jointly by the Federal Agency for Press and Mass Communications and the Government of Moscow, are presented books of the Moscow leading publishing houses, galleries and guide books through Moscow, the works of contemporary Russian writers and books on the history and culture of the capital issued as part of the publishing program of the Government of Moscow. A separate section is devoted to the modern Russian Sinology and Chinese translations.

During the fair it will be held a bilateral meeting of the Coordination Group for publication in our countries of the Library of Russian literature in Chinese and the Library of Chinese literature in Russian. The first volumes of libraries should be available next year.

The attention of Chinese translators is sure will be attracted by the International presentation READ RUSSIA International Prize for the best literary translation from Russian.

A special seminar for Chinese publishers will introduce the Moscow publishing scene. The experience of publishing a scientific literature will be exchanged by publishing houses of Beijing and the Moscow State University. A serious conversation will be about a contemporary children literature, literary awards, new publishing programs, where the opportunity to present their books will be provided not only by Moscow publishing houses. For example, it will be presented geographically close to China a publishing house “Frontier” from Vladivostok.
