
Information technology and society: The Ministry of Communication and Mass Media plans to simplify the registration at the portal of public services
The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation has developed a new simplified procedure for registration of users at the portal of public services in a single system of identification and authentication (ESIA). The document was prepared in response to a request by the results of the meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation on economic modernization and innovative development of Russia, held on July 31, 2013.
Ministry of Communications of Russia offers a much faster and easier registration at the portal of public services. Now the registration at the portal of public services will be carried out using a mobile phone and online.
At the first stage of the registration process, the user will have to enter a phone number and receive a confirmation code as an SMS. Then, the system will prompt to come up with a secure password, which will be a key to enter the private office. Upon completion of these steps it will be created a simplified account.
Using the account you will get access to many popular services that do not need to confirm the identity. In order to broaden the possibility of an account and get access to all the services it will be necessary to complete user profile further information. Then, to confirm the identity you have to take passport and to come to the nearest authorized multipurpose center (MFC), a post office or a federal body of executive power.
According to the Director of the Department of E-Government Ministry of Communications of Russia Alexey Kozyrev, a new procedure for registration at the portal will significantly simplify the access of citizens to obtain public services in electronic form. “The registration process will be much faster, more convenient and easier, and to begin to enjoy basic, the most popular among the population government services will be immediately possible after completing the registration process”.
