The State Duma speaker and chairman of the Russian Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin proposed to establish in Russia a monument to the unknown soldier of the First World War.

“You should consult with historians and the public, to erect a monument to the unknown soldier of the First World War”, - said the speaker, opening the workshop organizing committee on preparation activities associated with the 100th anniversary of the First World War, which will be celebrated next year.

Naryshkin paid his attention that, for example, to the Patriotic War of 1812 in contrast to the First World War are dedicated museums, monuments, many works of art.

“It is necessary to return the memory of the First World War”, he said.
