International events: The exhibition of unique exhibits as part of the cross cultural year of Russia – the Netherlands presented in Moscow

September 13, 2013 at the A. V. Schusev State Museum of Architecture in Moscow as part of the Year of Russia – the Hetherlands was opened the exhibition “Together and apart - urban family in Russia in the XX century”. The exhibition is also a special project of the V Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art.

The exhibition “Together and apart” refers to the architecture and history of Russia in the twentieth century through the lens of family relationships and family life. Based on a family memory, photos from family albums and related to them family stories, the exhibition features a private, everyday life of the people “of the Soviet century”.

Photographs and objects from the family collections, films and artifacts combine private and collective memory of the XX century and involve representatives of different generations in a dialogue about the shared past.
