Book publishing and book distribution: Russia has taken part in the 58th International Book Fair in Belgrade

The 58 International Book Fair has completed its work in Belgrade. Russia was represented at the fair with a unified national stand. This year, the organizer of the Russian stand was the publishing house “Russian way”. At the national stand of Russia was presented about 1,000 books from over 20 publishing houses.

The fair was attended by more than 500 publishers from France, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Macedonia, Iran, Montenegro, Japan, Belarus, China, Croatia, Great Britain, Poland, the Netherlands, Russia, Austria, Spain, Germany and India. In the framework of the fair it has been more provided than 60 different activities. This year, the status of the country guest of honor of the 58 International Book Fair in Belgrade was Poland.

During all days of the fair at the national Russian stand were presented the books of famous Russian writers, as well as a demonstration of documentary films about the history of Russia. The visitors were presented three photo exhibitions “80 years of Russian House in Belgrade”, “400 years of the Romanov dynasty”, “Russia in the early XX century in photographs of Prokudin-Gorsky”.

As part of the fair the University of Belgrade hosts the conference on Russian literature, as well as the presentation of the book “Russian doctors in the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes / Yugoslavia: A Biographical Dictionary and questionnaires (1918-1946)” with the participation of the Archive of Yugoslavia and Russian historians, which was held at the Russian House.

By tradition of Russian participation in international book fairs, most of the books, presented at the national stand will remain in Serbia. Books will be transferred to the Russian House in Belgrade for the formation of libraries in schools.
