Culture and authority: The Government to annually report on the state of culture in Russia

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree on the preparation and dissemination of the annual state resolution on the state of culture in Russia.

The resolution “On the preparation, dissemination, including publication, the annual state report on the state of culture in the Russian Federation” is prepared by the Ministry of Culture in connection with the amendments made to the law “Basic Law of the Russian Federation on culture” and “On Cultural Heritage (Historical and cultural monuments) of the Russian Federation”, which the government presents to the chambers of the Federal Assembly of the state annual report on the state of culture in the country.

“The resolution affirms the provision for the training, dissemination, including the publication of the report. In accordance with regulation, the report provides objective systematic analytical information on the state of the culture and trends of its development - the document says. – The preparation of the report is implemented by the Ministry of Culture of Russia, which annually determines the structure of the report, and is responsible for the timeliness of its preparation, the accuracy and completeness of the information included in the report”.

It is established that the report is submitted to the Government of the Federal Assembly no later than September 1 of the year following the year for which the information is analyzed, and is the subject to be published and to be publicly discussed.
