
Society and church: Exhibition “300 years of existence. Saint Alexander Nevsky Lavra” in Saint-Petersburg

The final exhibition "300 years of existence. Saint Alexander Nevsky Lavra" – is one of the events completed the final jubilee year for the Alexander Nevsky Lavra.
It includes a photo exhibition "300 years of existence" which was held with great success in Moscow in the Christ the Savior Cathedral, in the main cities of the Crimea, Minsk, Kiev, as well as Slovakia and Serbia.
Its exposition includes more than 100 photographs devoted to the architecture and history of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery, as well as the modern life of the cloister.
The author of historical pictures is Karl Bulla. He and his sons have created a unique photo chronicle of the events of the first half of the XX century, remembering the historical image of Alexander Nevsky Lavra of the last century until its destruction in the Soviet period.
Modern life of monastery is reflected in works created over the past few years by Saint-Petersburg and Moscow photographers and photo artists. The photos show the preparation for the 300th anniversary of the oldest monastic cloister of Saint-Petersburg, as well as Chronicle of anniversary celebrations.
In addition, the exposition of the photo exhibition includes works by Serbian photographer, a member of the Association of photo and film artists of Serbia, Miodrag Brankovic.
The exhibition will run till December 8, 2013.
