Information technology and education: Since 2015 all textbooks to obtain electronic version

Since 2015 all textbooks will have to obtain an electronic version with interactive use of information, said the Minister of Education and Science of Russia Dmitry Livanov at the All-Russian meeting of heads of executive authorities of subjects of the Russian Federation, engaged in management education,  taking place on December 10, 2013 in Moscow.

“Since 2015 all textbooks will have multimedia version with all interactive services, which are necessary for learning actions”, said the minister speaking at the meeting.

The minister explained that the complete rejection from paper textbooks is not planned. Livanov stressed that it is not planned to transfer pupils to a single textbook.

“There is no transition to a single textbook and the parents will have a choice. But the quality of textbooks should increase”, he said.
