Electronic resources: One of the largest online-dictionaries Linguee started working with Russian language

The world’s popular online-dictionary Linguee, developed by the German company, started working with Russian language and it is available at linguee.ru.

The work of this dictionary is based on the system, which "scours" millions translated sentences available online. As a result of the search, user receives the dictionary meaning of the word, and the token is in a live context. That is the fundamental difference of Linguee from other online dictionaries.

Before the running of the Russian version using a special search engine were selected web sites containing professionally translated texts. Basically, it is a bilingual web page of international organizations, agencies, various public figures. It is these translations made by professionals, and they are the basis for contextual search.

Linguee was launched in 2009. Until now, it has worked with the German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. Now, along with Russian language, there were started Chinese, Italian, Japanese and Dutch versions. All of them are in tandem with the English language.
