Memory of Russia: International Saint-Petersburg Military-Historical Festival “In the place of breakthrough” in the Leningrad region
January 26, 2014 at the memorial “January Thunder” in the Lomonosov district of the Leningrad region is held the International St. Petersburg Military-Historical Festival "In the place of breakthrough". For the third time, representatives of the military-historical clubs from different regions of Russia and foreign countries reproduce episode of the battle near the village of Thresholds, where in January 1944 the enemy has suffered one of the first so-called "Stalin strikes", completed by a complete liberation of the blockade of besieged Leningrad.
One of the organizers of the festival is the Russian Military Historical Society, which provided military equipment and aircraft to play battlefield. A total renovation of combat operations will involve five aircraft, armor, cars, motorcycles.
The viewers will see the world's only replica of a German self-propelled artillery "Marder 2D". First on the battlefield will appear a copy of a German tank Pz-IID. The rare machines will be provided by military and private collectors.
The reconstruction will include more than 400 people, among them - representatives of the Russian military-historical society.
It remains to add that the battle will start at 15.00 on January 26. There will be also worked exhibitions and interactive platforms, performing frontline concert brigades. After the fight everyone will be able to get acquainted with the life of front-line soldiers and officers of the Red Army.
