Libraries and society: The National Library Congress-2014 to take part in Ryazan

The National Library Congress – the XIX Annual Meeting of the Conference of the Russian Library Association will be held on May 18-23, 2014 in Ryazan - "Library capital of Russia in 2014".

The topic of the Russian Library Congress in 2014: "Libraries in the Year of Culture".

The RBA Congress in 2014 is significant in that it will be in the "Year of Culture of the Russian Federation" and is designed to show the role and achievements of modern libraries in the development of society, its role as a basis for strategic resource development - culture in its broadest sense (including education, science, education). The National Library Congress is included in the "Plan of Actions for the preparation and the 2014 Russia's Year of Culture". It is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Ryazan region.

During the Congress will run the XV Exhibition of publishing products, new information technologies, goods and services (for libraries).

Most of the sessions of the Congress and Exhibition will be held in the Gorky Ryazan Regional Universal Scientific Library and other cultural institutions located in the center of Ryazan.
