Information technology and museums: The Novosibirsk Local Lore Museum to create digital collections

The Novosibirsk State Local Lore Museum has purchased equipment and software for creation of digital collections.

With the equipment of the “Electronic Archive” Corporation, the Museum will digitize household items, arts and crafts and other large exhibits.

The collections of the Novosibirsk State Local Lore Museum include more than 240,000 items, and include archival, natural science, natural history and art collections. With the new scanning equipment and software the Museum will be able to transmit exhibits in a digital format, and use electronic copies in accounting, presentation, research and publishing activities.
