
Peoples of Russia: Sochi hosts the All-Russian Folk Festival to the Unity Day
November 1-4, 2014 Sochi will host the I All-Russian Festival and the exhibition of traditional folk culture "Capital of the world". Its concept and preparations were discussed at a workshop in the Ministry of Culture under the leadership of Deputy Minister Helena Milovzorova.
Initially the project was planned to be carried out in the National Unity Day in Moscow, in the Kremlin Palace. Later it was decided to make this event a larger scale, provide viewers the culture and identity of all Russian regions, moving the festival in Sochi.
Each region of Russia will present in Sochi folklore and folklore-ethnographic dancers, children and youth national teams, masters of folk crafts, folk his kitchen. Three days - from 1 to 3 November - at various stages of Sochi will be held concerts, exhibitions, games, contests. There will be held discussion and presentation roundtables to share creative ideas and the development of cultural relations between the regions, the discussion of joint projects in the field of folk art, presentations of already developed interregional cultural projects. The culmination of the festival will be a gala concert on November 4 – the National Unity Day.
