President of Russia: Vladimir Putin presented awards to young workers of culture for 2013

March 25, President of Russia Vladimir Putin presented awards to young workers of culture for 2013 and an award in the field of literature and art works for children and youth in 2013, which is awarded for the first time.

Laureates of the award became young workers of culture including:

- Pavel Matviets, director of the regional budget cultural institutions "Lipetsk Regional Museum of Art" - for the contribution to the development of domestic museology.

- Anton Ivanov, deputy chairman of the St. Petersburg City Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization "All-Russian Society for the Protection of Monuments of History and Culture", - for the contribution to the preservation and restoration of historical and cultural monuments.

The award of the President of the Russian Federation for young workers of culture is awarded annually and is the highest recognition of young cultural merit before the society and the state.

The proposal for the award of the President of the Russian Federation is represented by the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on culture and art.

The laureate in 2012 was bibliographer Olga Malishko for the creation of local history portal representing the Altay region on the electronic map of Russia and telling about the natural, cultural, industrial, intellectual wealth of the region.

For the first time this year is awarded the prize of the President of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art works for children and youth, established by presidential decree of December 14, 2013 № 915.

The prize is awarded for the creation of talented works of literature and art, implementation of creative and research projects in the field of culture, aimed at civil and patriotic, ethical, cultural and aesthetic education of children and young people of the Russian Federation, as well as a significant contribution to the culture of the Russian Federation.

The first winners of the award are:

- Vladislav Krapivin, writer, - for the contribution to the development of Russian children's literature and patriotic upbringing of the younger generation;

- Eduard Nazarov, director of animated films, - for the contribution to the development of domestic animated films;

Alexander Traugott, artist - for the contribution to the development of national art illustration of children's and youth’s book.
