Libraries and society: Scientific-Practical Conference of the series “Power. Population. Libraries” in Pskov

March 18, 2014 in the Pskov Regional Scientific Library is held the Regional Scientific and Practical Conference of the series "Power. Population. Libraries" on the theme: "Public legal information centers: new challenges, new stage of development".

The conference is organized by the Pskov Regional Universal Scientific Library with the support of the State Committee of the Pskov region for Culture.

The conference welcomes representatives of state and municipal authorities of the Pskov region, specialists of the Services of Special Communications and Information of Federal Security Service of Russia in the Pskov region, government agencies and non-governmental organizations, legal information centers.

The conference is held on the eve of the 15th anniversary of the opening on the basis of the regional scientific library of the first public legal information center in the Pskov region.

As part of the conference will be discussed topical issues of formation of legal culture, the possibilities of public libraries in providing public access to legal and other socially significant information; features of work on legal education of disadvantaged citizens, social partnership of public library authorities, governmental and non-governmental organizations to build legal culture of the population.

In video-conferencing mode the conference is attended by specialists of the Presidential Library, who will present a collection to the 20^th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
