Internet and Society: A New Commission of the Association of Electronic Communications will Evolve Children's Internet in Russia

According to the association’s report, the newly established commission of Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC) is meant to build children's Internet in Russia.

The Commission is created for the Internet industry communication with public authorities on account of children's Internet in Russia. The main purpose of the commission is to create a system of self-regulation of children's Internet as part of the National Strategy for Action on Behalf of Children. In addition, it is planned to render active assistance in advance of children's educational, developmental and entertaining Internet media and services.

Besides the web content self-regulation should also affect the fields of personal data processing, advertising, gaming, software development, search engines information retrieval, and e-commerce. In addition, the Commission will work with the parents, providing them with information about .ДЕТИ (.KIDS) domain and create portals and sites, gathering an information about the best resources for children and parents.
