Russian culture abroad: Russian centers for science and culture to be open in 11 countries during three years
The head of Rossotrudnichestvo Konstantin Kosachev in an interview to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" in Ankara (Turkey), where the Russian Centre of Science and Culture and the electronic reading room of the Presidential Library opened, said: "According to the plan for three years, we need to open 11 new overseas Russian centers of science and culture. 9 of them are in the CIS countries. It is our priority - both political and geographical".
"By itself, the task of expanding Russian centers abroad - this is not something invented by us. It follows directly from the famous presidential decree signed on May 7, 2012, which was devoted to foreign policy issues", - noted K. Kosachev.
"Russian scientific and cultural centers abroad interact with our fellow associations, friendship societies, associations with graduates of Russian-speaking press, non-governmental organizations pro-Russian orientation of integration that need information support, partner contacts", - said the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo.
He also recalled that on the basis of Russian scientific and cultural centers, as a rule, are certainly organized Russian language courses. And "our every center eventually becomes precisely tailored to the needs of the country in which it operates", - said K. Kosachev.
