To the 69th anniversary of the Great Victory: Forum “The Great Victory, gained by the unity” in Kursk

April 29, 2014 in Kursk is held the IV International Historical-Cultural Forum “Great Victory, gained by the unity”, which is organized by the Development Fund “Institute of Eurasian Studies”, Political center “North-South”, interstate Fund of the Humanitarian Cooperation of States – participants of the CIS (IFHSCS).

The Forum is a platform for communication between veterans, historians, politicians and public figures, journalists and experts, representatives of youth movements and search from the CIS, Georgia, Baltic countries, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

During the forum are held four discussion sections. In the center of attention – burning issues covering the events of the Great Patriotic War in mass media, ways to preserve and transmit the common historical memory, the current state and perspectives of the development of youth patriotic projects in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent greetings to participants and guests of the IV International Historical-Cultural Forum “The Great Victory, gained by the unity” in Kursk.

The greeting, in particular, says:

“Your meetings, taking place on the eve of the Victory Day, become a good, truly festive tradition, an important consolidating event in the life of citizens of our countries. Combining authority public figures, veterans, representatives of creative, youth organizations, they are designed to carry high mission – to keep the connection of times, to educate the younger generation the respect for the eternal spiritual values, to the heroic pages of the joint history of our peoples. 

The current forum is timed to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Ukraine and Belorussia from Nazi invaders. In the battle for Kiev and Minsk, the Dnieper and Berezina bravely shoulder to shoulder fought representatives of different nationalities. Heroism of our fathers and grandfathers will always serve us as a shining example of courage, moral and spiritual greatness, and frontline brotherhood of great responsibility towards future generations.

Our common duty is to defend the truth about the war, firmly oppose the attempts to rewrite the history. This is the pledge of friendship, good neighborliness and mutual respect”.
