Memory of Russia abroad: Monument to A. P. Chekhov to be open in Germany as part of the Annual festival “Days of Russian culture”
From 25 to 30 April 2014 in Germany and France is held the Cultural and Business Forum "Days of Russia in Europe". It is an integral part of the annual festival "Days of Russian Culture", which is attended by many prominent figures of Russian culture, as well as the State Literary-Memorial Museum of Anton P. Chekhov "Melikhovo".
April 27 is scheduled the unveiling of the monument to A. P. Chekhov in German Badenweiler where the famous Russian writer spent the last days of his life. The author of the monument is Honored Artist of Russia, member of the Russian Academy of Arts Sergei Isakov.
- City Badenweiler as well as the Moscow estate Melikhovo is inseparably linked with the name of Anton Chekhov, - says the Minister of Culture of the Moscow Region Oleg Rozhnov. - Community of colleagues, keeping alive the memory of the Great Russian writer, will contribute to the strengthening of ties between our countries and museums.
