Society and culture: Exhibition from a series “Preserving Cultural Heritage: Painting and Drawings of old masters” in Moscow

The I. E. Grabar All-Russian Art Research and Restoration Center together with the A. V. Schusev State Museum of Architecture presents another event in the series "Preserving Cultural Heritage: Paintings and drawings by old masters" from the collections of Russian museums after the restoration of the I. E> Grabar Center.

The concept of the exhibition project is innovative: the key principle of selection becomes the history of exhibits of existence artworks. The exhibition presents the works of Western artists of the XV-XVIII centuries, including woodcuts A. Dürer engraving works, H. Goltzius, P. P. Rubens, A. Carracci, drawings by A. van Everdingen, J. van Goyen, paintings of masters of the "Golden Age" of Dutch paintings from the collections of Russian museums, the fate of which was evolved very differently.

Despite such different fates, to distinguish restored works of art with a difficult history of the existence of "safe" can be only by trained eye of a professional. Through the efforts of restorers the I. E. Grabar all works are kind of exposition.

To mark a masterly work of the restorers will help a wide range of audience exposure original decision safely fit into the interior architectural monument of the XVII century with multimedia equipment, which first demonstrates unique archival materials of the Center with a history of the restoration of the works.
