The World History: Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the First World War "Russia in the Great War" Exhibition in Veliky Ustyug
Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First World War "Russia in the Great War" exhibition opened in Veliky Ustyug State Historical, Architectural and Art National Park and Museum.
The exhibition includes more than 80 items from the museum. A substance of the exhibition are the colorful lithographs printed in the 1914-1915 private publishing houses of Moscow belonging to Evdokia Konovalova, Ivan Sytin, Ivan Mashistov and E. F. Chelnokov.
The cards of the wartime, often accompanied by humorous comments, complement poster graphics. In the images of documentary postcards are the portraits and a various events. Publishing the art cards in Russia during the war was a matter of charity. A profit on their sale went on keeping of the invalids of war, the widows’ and the orphans’ support, and sending to the families of the ones who were mobilized.
The exhibition also includes the photographs, documents, books, weapons, Russian and German uniforms’ pieces, coins, medals and tokens. Many items are exposing for the first time.
