History of a Book: Exhibition of rare editions for children “Good Book” in Nizhny Novgorod

The exhibition "Good Book", representing rare books for children, is open from May 29 to June 15, 2014 in the Nizhny Novgorod State Exhibition Center.

"The exposition features more than 100 rare and valuable books published for children in the XIX-XX centuries, and demonstrates that even in the hard times society has paid great attention to the children's book. The proof of that – publications of 1917, 1918, 1920s, and times of the Great Patriotic War", - according to the website NSEC

A large section of the exhibition introduces with rarely encountered in modern home libraries of books on which brought up a whole generation of viewers.

In particular, the exposition includes a series of books with illustrations by renowned artist Ivan Bilibin, its pages are printed on stamped paper and decorated with fabulous pictures.

In addition, it will present a bibliographic rarity - Russian children's book by Lydia Charskaya "One for All" as well as a folio with gilt edges - pre-revolutionary edition of collected works "Turgenev to children", illustrated by famous Russian artists.
