Russian museums: The new permanent exposition “History of Russian Army” opened at the Central Museum o the Armed Forces
At the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Moscow) is opened a permanent exhibition on the history of the Russian Imperial Army and Navy and the national military history events of the XIV - early XX century. This is the result of more than 20 years of museum work on this topic.
For the first time in the museum practice in the hall devoted to events of the First World War, in the memorable year of the centenary since the war launched is presented a large-scale diorama, which gives a visual representation of the nature and characteristics of warfare in this period, with the latest modern audio and lighting effects the viewer immerses in the atmosphere of fights.
The opening of the exhibition is preceded by a number of major completions of the Museum Fund – the acquisitions of the collection the US-Russian Cultural and Charitable Society "Motherland", the transfer of the relics of families of Generals M. V Alekseev, A. V. Schwartz, A. I. Denikin. Now these interesting relics mingle with the "old-timers " of the Museum of the Armed Forces, among them - a sword by General N. N. Yudenich, the George checker of General A. I. Denikin, the banner of the Life Guards regiment of Finland, the flag of the state militia during the First World War, the samples of the St. George award weapons, a unique collection of authentic uniforms Russian Guard, rare examples of small arms, including the world's first automatic system of Fedorov, artillery and mortars of the last century.
The exhibits of the three new halls of the museum will attract the attention of lovers of military history with significant collections of signs, decorations and medals of the Russian Army, authentic weapons, military uniforms and equipment, items of military life.
