Memory of Russia: Exhibition “St. Sergius of Radonezh. To the 700th anniversary of the birth” in Moscow

The State Literary Museum (Moscow) hosts the exhibition “St. Sergius of Radonezh. To the 700th anniversary of the birth”.

The image of the saint appears to visitors of the museum through the prism of various texts, from Epiphanius the Wise to Ivan Shmelev. The exposition gives an idea of life, public service, pupils and followers of St. Sergius, of his national reverence, as well as a unique pilgrimage tradition, associated with the knowledge of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra with focus of faith, Russian Jerusalem.

The exhibition features materials of the State Literary Museum, as well as objects from the All-Russian Museum of Decorative-Applied and Folk Arts and the Museum of the Bogorodskaya Factory of Art Woodcarving; icons, splints, engravings, manuscripts, books, photographs, toys, wooden plastic, decorative-applied art, about 100 exhibits.
