
To the Day of Memory and Grief: Exhibition project “Crime of Nazism. Liberating mission of the Red Army in Europe” in Moscow
June 22, 2014, on the Day of Memory and Grief, the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War (Moscow) with the support of the Russian Military Historical Society will present the exhibition "Crime of Nazis. Liberating mission of the Red Army in Europe", dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the Great Patriotic War.
Once the idea of holding such a timely currently exhibition appeared, a working group to develop it was created. It includes leading specialists of the museum, as well as representatives of the Russian military-historical society, a number of archival institutions. After developing the concept of a future exhibition began painstaking work in archives, in the end were able to identify more than 700 documents relating to the project, many of them will be presented at a high visibility. Precise language of documentary evidence will be shown true, bestial face of Nazism. The exhibition will recall the tremendous sacrifices that the Soviet people suffered as a result of an arranged the Nazi invaders and the genocide of civilians during the bloody battles our soldiers of the army against the invaders.
At the exposition will be discussed in detail the implementation of the Red Army humanitarian mission in liberation from the Nazis Eastern European states. Visitors can also see videos of witnesses' memories of those events.
The project in complemented by organized jointly with the M. B. Grekov War Artists Studio and the Union of Russian Artists Art Exhibition "And the saved world remembers", dedicated to the heroism of Soviet soldiers during the liberation of Eastern Europe from Nazism. The exhibition presents the front-line drawings and sketches, created in 1945, and documented evidence of how the soldiers of the Red Army met the people in the countries of Eastern Europe.
The exhibition "Crime of Nazism. Liberating mission of the Red Army in Europe" will take place first in the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War and in a number of subjects of the Russian Federation. And later, with the help of Russian Cooperation and coordination with relevant foreign official circles, the mobile thematic exhibition will visit European countries, which were released by the Soviet soldiers.
The large-scale exhibition project will run until June 1, 2015.
