
To the Navy Day: the celebrations throughout Russian cities
On July 27, 2014, in the cities of Russia will be undertaken the celebrations in commemoration of Russian Navy Day and the 300 years anniversary of the first in the history of Russia naval victory of the Russian Fleet under the command of Peter the Great at Gangut Cape in 1714.
In St. Petersburg, the celebrations will be held on July 27 in the Neva River’s waters, in the Park of the 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg and in Kronstadt. Everyone will be able to get aboard the ships of the Baltic Fleet, to see the landing involving two armored troop carriers in the Park of the 300th Anniversary, and to attend a concert that will be given aboard the "Steadfast" corvette.
The celebrations will also be held in different cities across Russia. For example, in Novorossiysk, where the Black Sea Fleet is partially stationed, will happen a meeting with a ceremony of laying the flowers to the monument in honor of the city founders. Then a military and athletic festival with the passage of the battleships will start.
The audience will get acquainted with the combat capabilities of the ships of Novorossiysk naval base: a naval battle simulation and the release of the vessel hijacked by terrorists. In agenda of the show is marines landing episode with a meeting engagement and following seizure of the coastal area. In the afternoon, residents and guests of the city can visit the Museum of the Mikhail Kutuzov cruiser-museum, as well as the exhibition of the Navy coastal forces military equipment.
On Nakhimov Square in Sevastopol the wreaths and flowers will be laid at the Memorial to the Heroic Defenders of Sevastopol in 1941-1942, and in the waters of Sevastopol Bay will occur a battleships parade with a military and athletic demonstration of the Navy capabilities. Nakhimov Square will also host the fleet’s weapons and military equipment show and dedicated to Russian Navy Day gala concert.
