
World culture: The Moscow Museum of the East to present miniatures of Great Moguls in India
The Moscow Museum of the East will be exhibiting at the National Museum in the Indian capital New Delhi its collection of miniature paintings of the Moguls era.
“We plan the exhibition in the end of 2015”, - said the deputy Director General of the Museum of the East Tigran Mkrtychev.
According to him, the parties plan the catalogue edition in Russian and English. It will contain researches of Russian and Indian scientists, dedicated to the miniature of this period. “This edition will allow comparing opinions of scientists of two countries”, - added Mkrtychev. – It would be interesting to compare them.
The Indian collection of the Museum of the East is about three thousand units. The museum also collected about 50 miniature illustrations of historical memoirs "Babur-name" written by Emperor Babur, the first Mogul of the Empire of Great Moguls, who ruled in 1526-1530, respectively.
The National Museum in New Delhi is the largest collection in India. There are stored numerous archaeological and art objects - about 200,000 units.
