Exhibitions: The exhibition “Man. Warrior. Hunter” opened at the National Local History Museum in Khakassia

On July 1 in the Khakas National Local History Museum opened the exhibition “Man. Warrior. Hunter”. It is prepared on the basis of the collection of the Russian Ethnographic Museum (Saint-Petersburg) and is one of the most significant cultural events 2014 in Khakassia.

The exhibition reflects different sides of handicraft, first of all, it pays attention to the image of the hunter and warrior, with overall sound in the culture of different ethnos. Men-getters had special gear and equipment which protected from heat and cold during the campaign, saved from a wild animal in the hunting field.

Hunting and military campaign had sacred significance for men, so the ratio of vestments and gear has always been special. Costumes were decorated with ornaments, protecting against evil forces with embroidery. Clothing was extremely comfortable and practical. It protected from cold and released hands of the hunter.

The exhibition “Man. Warrior. Hunter” is composed of two main sections. The first includes photographs and objects of hunting culture and traditions of the peoples of the Russian Federation: Russian, Bashkir, Evenki, Komi, Tuva. The second section presents the images of hunters of neighboring countries: Ukrainians, Belarusians, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Khevsurs, Tibetans. Unique items, such as armor of Tibetan warrior who offered Lama on behalf of the Dalai Lama of the XIII Russian Emperor Nicholas II on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov in the sign of developing diplomatic relations between Russia and Tibet are exhibited.

The exhibition is open on July 1 and will run until August 17.
