Libraries of Russia: The Scientific-Practical Conference “The A. S. Pushkin Saratov Regional Library for Children and Youth in the Cultural Space of the region” in Saratov

From 29 September to 1 October 2014 in Saratov is held the Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference "The A. S. Pushkin Saratov Regional Library for Children and Youth in the cultural space of the region" (to the 95th anniversary of the library).

The main problem and thematic directions of the conference are:

- The implementation of the Concept of library service of children in Russia.

- The regional Children and Youth Library: the cultural status, stability and importance in the development of the region.

- The youth policy and special programs for youth in Russian and foreign libraries: experience, tendencies, and strategies.

- The Scientific-methodical functions in the context of legal and socio-cultural changes: effective practice.

- New opportunities to attract users – children and youth – to the library: attractiveneness, comfort, new service, ideology of the “open library”.

- Children and youth library and a book in the format of electronic environment: new stages of the development.

As part of the conference are planned plenary and discussion meetings, exhibitions, presentations, internet-dialogue with specialists of libraries of Russia and abroad, solemn events, dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the A. S. Pushkin RLCY.
