History and culture: The exhibition, timed to the 190th anniversary of the arrival of A. S. Pushkin from Odessa to Mikhailovskoe, in the Pskov region

The exhibition "Travelling papers 1824" from the collection of the Pushkin Reserve is represented in the Regional museum of Opochka to the 190th anniversary of the Mikhailovskoe exile of A. S. Pushkin.

The exposition offers the visitor to discover the history of the arrival of Pushkin in Odessa, as well as life in the Opochka district of the Pskov region in 1824-1826, respectively, and Pskov realities in the work of the poet.

It is known that the travel was of great importance to personal life and work of A. S. Pushkin. The subject of roads and related experiences is presented in many of his works.

The exhibition "Travelling papers 1824" includes paintings, graphics and objects of decorative art from the collection of the Pushkin Reserve. Vintage photo save the image of individual monuments and buildings of Opochka. In the artists' works are presented: a portrait of Alexander Pushkin, Mikhailovskoe and its surroundings, Pushkin's study, types of Odessa and Opochka. Among the things brought back by a poet from Odessa, was a metal stick. Pushkin walked a lot of miles with this cane by roads of Opochka County, getting acquainted with its history, people, thinking about their creative ideas or looking for the right rhyme. Today Pushkin cane is on display in the house-museum of the poet in Mikhailovskoe. The exhibition presents a copy of it. Other submitted items - purses, jewelry boxes, needle bar, spotting scopes, snuff boxes, suitcases and bells - were indispensable companions of the wandering during any travel.
