Memorable dates of Russia: The festival “Day of Borodino” in the Moscow region

7 September 2014 at Borodino Field (the State Borodino War and History Museum and Reserve, the Moscow region) takes place a holiday "Day of Borodino". The culmination of the event will be the reconstruction of the traditional key elements of Battle of Borodino - the most important battle of the Patriotic War of 1812. The battle is attended by lancers, hussars, dragoons, grenadiers, cuirassiers, infantry and artillery - the re-enactors of the military-historical clubs.

Every year on the first Sunday in September at Borodino is widely celebrated the anniversary of the Battle of Borodino. Tens of thousands of people come to Borodino to feel their involvement in the heroic past of the Russian state.

The festival traditionally begins solemnities at command posts of M. I. Kutuzov in the village of Gorki and Napoleon at the village of Shevardino. In the main monument of the battery of Rayevsky is held an official part of the holiday - saluting military honors heroes of Borodino and the laying of wreaths.
