Russian regions: Historical-Documentary exhibition “The Novgorod region: history in documents. 1944-2000” in Novgorod
October 24, 2014 in the reading room of the State Archive of Contemporary History of the Novgorod Region (Veliky Novgorod) is held a historical-documentary exhibition "The Novgorod region: history in documents. 1944-2000".
70 years ago, July 5, 1944 was published the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR "On the formation of the Novgorod region of the RSFSR". Novgorod regained the status of the administrative center of the region, which includes the 27 districts of the Leningrad region.
The exhibition includes four sections: "From war to peace: post-war development. 1944-1952 period", "Socio-economic development of the region. 1953-2000" (four sections), "Science and Culture: the revival and creation", "They are proud of the land of Novgorod: deeds and fates". Documents tell about the formation of the Novgorod region as a subject of the Russian Federation, a major cultural and economic center of the North-West of Russia. On baguettes and windows are taken 145 archival documents from the State Archive of Contemporary History of Novgorod Region, including 38 documentary photographs.
The documents of the exhibition reflect important milestones of the Novgorod region and a daily life of the region.
