Information technology and museums: Results of work to create virtual museums discussed in Moscow
Chairman of the Minister of Culture of Russia Elena Milovzorova held the second meeting of the expert group to create virtual museums within the framework of the Decree of the President of Russia and the state program “Information society (2011-2020)” during which were discussed the interim results of work on the creation of virtual museums and also there have been agreed guidelines for creating audio guides for virtual exposition and changes in indicators in passports of objects.
Participants of the meeting agreed on guidelines for the selection of items on the virtual exhibit design of the virtual museum and a virtual tour, navigation, and approved the list of museums to create info graphics for museum websites and portal «Культура.рф». The team of developers and technicians is working to improve the service continuously.
“Today, in 2D and in 3D are digitized exhibits of 33 federal museums, - said Elena Milovzorova. - Among them - the Arkhangelsk State Museum of Wooden Architecture and the Folk Art “Small Korelas”, the architectural ensemble of the Rostov Kremlin Museum-Reserves “Kulikovo Field”, “The Battle of Stalingrad”, “Shchelykovo” and “Lenin Hills”.
