Archives of Russia: The building of new Archive Center opened in Saint-Petersburg

The new building of the new Archive Center which will house the Central City Archive of Saint-Petersburg and the Laboratory of Safeguard Documents of State Archival Institutions opened in Saint-Petersburg.

The total area of ​​the new building is 20 000 sq.m. Built within the city targeted program, it will provide archival institutions with squares, which were lacking for many years. Its total capacity - 5 million items - will not only accept documents up this close to the city archives, but also provide a reserve for the future. After the modernization the archivists will also get previously occupied premises.
