History and culture: The exhibition “The Koran: the attraction of harmony” in Yelabuga

October 2, 2014 in the Exhibition hall of the Yelabuga State Museum-Reserve is opened the unique exhibition “The Koran: the attraction of harmony” from the collection of the Kazan Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve “The Kazan Kremlin”. It presents the best part of the rich collection of historically significant and art decorated manuscripts and publications of the Arabic text of the Koran.

The decoration of the collection consists of modern publication or facsimile of ancient manuscripts of the Koran – gifts of the heads of states, political and religious leaders, prominent representatives of culture and science of Muslim countries – Turkey, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, the Palestine Authority, Iran and many others.

In addition, the exhibition features miniature Korans, put in silver or silver plated cases – “korannitsa”, decorated ornamental stones or colored glass. 

The exhibition also features panoramic views of holy cities for Muslims of Mecca and Medina, where the Prophet Muhammad was sent down the Koran.

The exhibition “The Koran: the attraction of harmony” – is the fourth in a row within the project “The Museum-Reserve “The Kazan Kremlin” - museums of Tatarstan" in the year of the 20th anniversary of the Kazan Historical-Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve “The Kazan Kremlin”.
