Memorable dates of Russia: Exhibitions, dedicated to anniversary dates of the Roerich family, opened in Barnaul

October 1, 2014, as part of the Year of Culture in Russia the State Museum of Literature, Art and Culture of Altai (Barnaul), holds two opening days devoted to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Nicholas Roerich, the 135th anniversary of the birth of Helena Roerich, the 110th anniversary birthday of Sviatoslav Roerich.

The museum will feature a presentation of the exhibition "100 gems of the collection of Roerich" (rarities from the GMILIKA collection, many of which are being shown for the first time). The exhibition presents the only genuine items from the collection of the Roerich family, which has been developing for 30 years and now has more than 2,000 exhibits.

Then it will be open the exhibition "Power of peaks" representing the art of Honored Artist of Russia Leopold Tsesyulevich.

The exposition includes landscapes, portraits, themed paintings, for the creation of which the master was inspired by the most significant events in the history of the region. The basis of the value of creativity of Leopold Tsesyulevich worldview was Nicholas Roerich, who admired the great past of the Altai, its natural resources, valued in Altai people the desire for true knowledge, which, according to Nicholas Roerich, is the key to future prosperity of the region.

The exhibition will run until November 9, 2014.
