 
  Territory of Russia: The Sixth World Congress on Natural Protected Areas discussed specially protected areas of Russia
      November 12-19 in Sydney (Australia) took place the XI World Congress of Parks of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN World Parks Congress), where the main theme was “Parks, People, Planet: inspired solutions”. This forum is being organized once in 10 years.
The unique experience of the national park “Russian Arctic” to eliminate the environmental damage on the islands at high latitudes - an archipelago of Franz Josef Land and Novaya Zemlya - presented in Sydney. In the framework of the VI World Congress on Protected Areas his report delivered the Director of “Russian Arctic” Roman Ershov.
Along with the program on the elimination of environmental damage “Russian Arctic” presented a report on the specifics and prospects of the expedition cruise tourism on marine and coastal protected territories. This type of tourism is most developed in Antarctica, Greenland, Alaska, and its development in the Russian protected areas is now paid much attention.
The beauty and uniqueness of the Russian marine and coastal protected areas were presented in the format of a video prepared by the specialists of “Russian Arctic”. Besides the national park from Archangelsk, there are shown the reserves "Commander" and "Sikhote-Alin" and the National Park “Onega Pomerania”. As reported the portal “Russian world”, to the development of eco-tourism in the Arctic Natural Resources the Ministry plans to attract such companies as National Geographic and Google.
