11 November 2014

November 11, 2014 in a concert and exhibition hall "Smolny Cathedral" opens the exhibition "300 years of monumental art of St. Petersburg", prepared by the St. Petersburg Union of Artists. The exhibition will be available for audience from November 12 to December 3, 2014.

The exposition for the photo exhibition is formed from the most significant works of artists-sculptors of monuments, who created a unique art image of the city of the Neva. The viewer will see a chronological chain of the development of monumental art of the city during three centuries.

Works of monumental art, along with architecture and landscape, become an important sense of dominant terrain. The elements of the facades and interiors, monuments or spatial compositions traditionally reflect current social trends. Thus, it is possible to trace the history of the city. A special place in the photo exhibition takes monumental painting.
