Internet and history: The Inter archival Internet project “Officers of the First World War – generals of the Great Patriotic War”

The Federal Archival Agency features an Inter Archival Internet project "Officers of the First World War - Generals of the Great Patriotic War", prepared for the purpose of popularization of documents of Archival fund of the Russian Federation and the expansion of access to users.

For the first time for professionals and anyone interested in the history of the Russian military is provided an opportunity available in the Internet with a set of documents, covering the passage of service and participation in hostilities as officers of the Russian Imperial Army during the First World War 1914-1918 of future Soviet marshals, generals and admirals – participants of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Currently, the complex includes 152 documents from the Russian State Military Historical Archive (RGVIA). The work on filling the project continues.

The authors hope that the publication of the submitted documents will help professionals and amateurs of Russian military history in their studies.
