Exhibitions: Exposition “Palekh – treasure of Russia” in Moscow
The exhibition "Palekh - treasure of Russia" opened at the Central House of Artists in Moscow.
Palekh art "highest order" - the museum and the collection format – is presented in the Central House of Artists on the anniversary exhibition project dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Artel of ancient painting and final year of culture in Russia. Scope of the project is unprecedented in all respects: Palekh in such volume and quality in Moscow has not yet been exhibited.
A large retrospective exhibition offers a survey of more than 600 works of art - jewelry boxes, chests, portraits, plates, household design, icons of Palekh letter, monumental murals, unique furniture, porcelain painting, original book illustrations for books and tomes, sketches of theatrical costumes and scenery. In the scenography of the project are included children's drawings, interpreted the Palekh style. Communication with the audience is supported by media complexes of 150 rare photographs on the history of Palekh.
Palekh lacquer miniature - a unique phenomenon of world culture. Having absorbed the tried and tested over the centuries to achieve the lacquer art of East and West, it has enriched his experience and unique national identity.
Chronologically the exhibition covers the period of the middle XBIII century until the present day.
An objective of the exhibition project is not just causing a feeling of admiration for the works of the leading reference Palekh masters. First of all, it is an attempt to revive the historical and artistic status of Palekh as an object of special pride of Russia, its national heritage; to include Palekh Art in the Russian and international cultural communication system.
