The Year of Literature-2015: Unique collection of engravings and ex-libris presented at the exhibition in Moscow

The exhibition "Business card. Bookplates of Herman Ratner" was opened in the gallery "Nagornaya" in Moscow to the Year of Literature in Russia. It introduces a unique collection of prints and ex-libris (bookplates) by a famous master of easel graphics G. Ratner, which are the hallmark not only of the author, but also the tendencies of the time the second half of the XX century, reflecting the characteristic features of the artistic style of the complex interactions of black and white. According to the master, "bookplate is a symbol of a phenomenon and not an illustration on a given topic". In this regard, the study of the art features, emphasizing the individual image of literary works, is relevant.

The exhibition presents the private collection of unique prints and bookplates of a well-known master of easel graphics Herman Ratner (1933-1996), which were created by him in different time periods of his career. Among the holders of registered bookplates artist are a lot of famous people, both in Russia and abroad.
