Exhibitions: The exposition “Anthem of Russia” in Saint-Petersburg

February 18, 2015 in St. Petersburg, in the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps is opening an interactive exhibition "Anthem of Russia". The museum presents the history of the space scale of the National Anthem of the Russian Federation and its predecessors - and solemn hymn tunes of different centuries.

Large-scale interactive exhibition project, which has already been shown in Moscow and Sevastopol, is now represented in St. Petersburg.

In the Russian Federation, as well as in other states, the anthem is the main musical symbol of the country. It focuses the whole point of political and cultural life of the people, which it performs. What values in the Russian national anthem were reflected, and its creation is shown at the exhibition. In the process of historical multimedia "walk" with a virtual guide, visitors will make a musical journey through time from the XVI century to the present day. Guests of the exhibition feel themselves participants of distant events, meet solemn hymn tunes from different eras and get answers to many questions: for example, what the history of the Russian national anthem is, why the anthem the national symbol is, in which cases it should be executed. Footage on the screen and audio-visual effects will immerse visitors in the world of historical artifacts.  

The exhibition in one exhibition space connects modern multimedia technology with original documents of different epochs and rare exhibits to major state museums, archives and private collectors.

Visitors will be able to see rare exhibits: an icon of Christ Pantocrator of the XVII century, Irmologion of chant; musical instruments of the epoch of Peter I; Chamber wind composition, selected by Paul I for the performance of the anthem: two horn, two clarinets and bassoon; personal belongings of Alexei Fyodorovich Lvov, author of the hymn "God Save the Tsar!"; autographs of composers and poets who took part in a competition to create the Hymn of the Soviet Union in 1943, and others.

According to the authors, the musical component of the exhibition comes to the fore. Many old marches, hymn and solemn melody of our country, such as the national anthem "God praise Thee", "The Preobrazhensky March", the famous "Thunder of Victory Sound" and "Glorious our Lord in Zion", national anthem "God Save the Tsar!" "La Marseillaise", the "Internationale", Anthem of the USSR "Patriotic Song" and the hymn of Russia.

The culmination of the exhibition is the story of the history of modern Russian national anthem, after which anyone can become a member of a large virtual choir, performed the national anthem of the Russian Federation.

The exhibition "Anthem of Russia" will open at the Museum of Artillery until 29 March 2015.
