History and culture: The exhibition of one masterpiece “Icon of Baptist of Rus’ Prince Vladimir” to be presented in Kolomenskoye

In the year of anniversary events, dedicated to the memory of St. Apostolic Grand Prince Vladimir – Baptist of Rus’, which are held throughout Russia, the Moscow State United Museum-Reserve opens the exhibition of one masterpiece “Icon of Baptist of Rus’ Grand Prince Vladimir”. The exhibition will run from May 15 in a famous church of the Ascension – the masterpiece of the world architecture, protected by UNESCO. Visitors will see a unique icon from the collection of the museum-reserve “Saint Princes Vladimir Boris and Gleb”, written by unknown artist in 1675.

In addition, created electronic exposition will explain visitors the historical events, associated with the memorable date. It will tell of the Grand Prince Vladimir, the choice of faith, the baptism of Prince Vladimir, the Christianization of Rus’ and the importance of the event for Russia.

The exhibition of one masterpiece in Kolomenskoye will run until August 1, 2015.
