 
  Society and culture: The International Research and Practical Conference “Chekhov Readings in Yalta”
      April 20-25, 2015 in the A. P. Chekhov House-Museum in Yalta is held the XXXVI International Research and Practical Conference “Chekhov Readings in Yalta” on the theme “Chekhov and Shakespeare”.
The choice of the theme is due to both the undoubted interest of A. P. Chekhov to Shakespeare and considerable material on this subject, requiring the scientific understanding of a number of anniversaries: 2015 – 155 years of the birth of Chekhov and a short period between two Shakespeare anniversaries (2014 – 450 years of the birth of Shakespeare, 2016 – 400 of his death).
As part of the conference are provided plenary, section meetings and round tables, master-classes on the following areas:
- Shakespeare in life and work of Chekhov;
- The poetics of artistic text;
- Intersexual relations;
- Theatrical interpretations;
- Screen versions (cinema and TV);
- Scenography;
- Archives, museums, collection;
- Chekhov and Shakespeare in Russian and world consciousness;
- Chekhov and Shakespeare: from the XIX to the XXI century.
The conference welcomes scientists and researchers (linguists, specialists in drama study, cultural workers, museums specialists, historians, philosophers and etc.) as well as writers, journalists, filmmakers, actors and translators.
On the results of the conference will be published the collection of scientific works “Chekhov Readings in Yalta. Chekhov and Shakespeare”.
