Memory of Russia: The memorial plaque to Vice-Admiral N. V. Kopytov opened in Saint-Petersburg
April 9, 2015 by the decision of the Maritime Council of the Government of Saint-Petersburg and the permission of the VUNTS Navy Head of the “N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy” admiral N. M. Maximov took place the solemn opening of the memorable plaque to the prominent public figure of the Navy Vice-Admiral Nikolai Vasilievich Kopytov on the building of the Military Russian Navy Institute (Saint-Petersburg, Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment, 17).
The solemn meeting was attended by teachers and students of the Naval Institute, representatives of maritime community of Saint-Petersburg.
“We are very pleased to open today a memorial plaque to Vice Admiral N. V. Kopytov. For more than 300-year history of our institution more than 30 thousand officers were graduated from the premises. And today another sign for the Russian fleet figure will be immortalized in the walls of the institution, where he got start in life”, - said the head of the Naval Institute VUNTS “N. G. Kuznetsov Admiral of Fleet of the Soviet Union Kuznetsov” counter-admiral V. N. Sokolov.
The Presidential Library websites hosts an electronic copy of the book of N. M. Ivanov and Y. S. Rozadorsky “Vice-Admiral N. V. Kopytov”, with which readers can learn about the history of life and service to the Fatherland Adjutant General Nicholas II, a member of the Admiralty Board Vice-Admiral Nikolai Vasilievich Kopytov.
