Internet and history: Administration of the Khabarovsk Krai presented the Memory Book at its website
The digitization of the Memory Book in Khabarovsk Krai is completed. Today its electronic version was posted at the official information of the regional Internet portal.
The original book is 6 volumes and 4640 pages, where more than 90 thousand soldiers of the Far East are named. The digitization was held on planetary scanner contactless which avoids harmful physical or visual impacts on paper. The files are numbered and grouped in electronic books, corresponding with originals.
The paper version of the Memory Book has been published only once and very limited edition, so the information about the inhabitants of the Khabarovsk Krai – participants of battles remained inaccessible to the public. After digitizing and creating a database of personalities the Memory Book is now available to everyone. This will help to promote the history of the Great Patriotic War and patriotism among the younger generation”, - said Head of the Committee on Press and Mass Communications of the Regional Government Roman Semykin.
According to him, the search of information about participants of battles is continued and new data will be quickly downloaded to an existing electronic resource.
The Memory Book of the Khabarovsk Krai has been created for 18 years at the initiative of the regional council of war and labor veterans, Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies in the region. During this period, there was made more search and research, as a result of which there are the names of the combatants of the Great Patriotic War and the Soviet-Japanese War.
