History of St. Petersburg: Celebrations of the 312th anniversary of the city foundation continue

Celebrations of the 312th anniversary of the founding of St. Petersburg will start at 10.00 May 27 with a solemn ceremony of laying flowers to the monument to Peter the Great (Bronze Horseman) in the Senate Square.

The ceremony will be attended by a military brass band, guard of honor, Children's Choir of St. Petersburg television and radio. The host of the ceremony is an Honored Artist of Russia Valery Solovyov.

After the ceremony, the guard of honor will solemnly march along the Admiralty Embankment.

At 11.45 the official celebrations will continue at the Czar bastion of the Peter and Paul Fortress, where the solemn meeting devoted to the City Day - the Day of foundation of St. Petersburg – will take place.
