History and culture: The Museum of Cinema opens the exhibition of Soviet front newsreel of 1941-1945 in Moscow

May 6, 2015 in the Generals Hall of Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War (Moscow) opened the exhibition “They filmed war”. Dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The exposition tells of that mite, which Soviet operators contributed to the Victory over Nazi invaders and their fates. The exhibition features unique historical exhibits – cine technique, which was on the battlefields with the cameramen, editorial scripts of war operators. During the opening ceremony will be held the solemn transfer of the only in Russia gun-camera to the Museum of Cinema.  The passed exhibit in front of the public will be the part of the exposition.

During the work of the exhibition in the small hall of the Central House of Cinema will take place film screenings (the program “Forgotten film of the war”), round tables “Soviet front chronicle. Shcherbakov against Goebbels” (May 14); “Their weapon – camera. Chronicle of war” (May 22), dedicated to the work of modern war correspondents (Afghanistan, Chechnya, Ukraine).
